I could not be more excited to share my most recent make with you all!  It’s the star of this season’s indie pattern releases (IMHO), the Closet Case Files Clare Coat.  I was waiting for this pattern as soon as Heather announced she was working on a coat design.  All of her patterns that I have made so far fit me really well and they are all effortlessly chic, so I knew this one would be no exception.  It was also exciting to purchase one of her first paper pattern releases, and the physical pattern is absolutely gorgeous, with lovely watercolour...

Thanks again to everybody who signed up to receive the free Granger Book Bag Pattern!  I had a lot of fun making the pattern and doing the sewalong with you all. I made both views during the sewalong so I could demonstrate view A and view B.  If you are interested in seeing how this bag comes together, you can check out the sewalong here.  I made the floral version for myself, since I did not have a view A yet, and It seemed a fitting reward for meeting my goal of releasing a pattern and doing a sewalong!  I’m...

Final day, woo hoo!!  Congrats on making it to the last step of the sewalong, I hope you all had fun making your bags so far!  Today is all about the bag strap, so grab your strap pieces, pins, sewing machine, iron, and strap slider and let's get started! If you are making your strap from fabric, place strap parts A and B together with right sides facing.  Your stitch guide boxes should be on the ends that are not lined up.  Pin and sew the two straps pieces together along the short end. Press the seam towards the longer side...

Hello dear makers!  I hope everybody's holiday season is in full swing and you are getting a chance to wear all those party frocks you've been sewing up over the last few months!  It's fun to admire all the pretty sewing happening during the holidays, and get inspiration for the new year. Makes Mariah's Clare Coat turned out beautifully and it was the push I needed to get mine finished this evening!  I love the color she chose and her pattern reviews are always very thorough and honest. This Isla Trench coat from Julie is seriously awesome.  I need a spy jacket, right?...

I hope you had a great weekend, Granger Bag makers!  I am currently working on the Closet Case Files Clare Coat, so I've been catching up on Heather's sewalong while hosting this one as well, whew! Today we are going to put bag and lining together!  You will need pins, your sewing machine, iron, and shears.  If you are making view B, we first need to attach the flap.  You flap should be turned in 5/8" on the open end, as instructed in step 9 in your booklet, and your outer bag top should be folded down 1 6/8" as...

True Bias Hudson Pants by Helen's Closet

Knit projects are rapidly becoming my favourite things to sew.  I love how quickly they come together, how easily they fit, and how wearable they are. My grey Lark Tee is easily the most worn item in my closet, so I figured it was time to make a cozy pair of knit bottoms to match!       For my comfy sweats, I went with the queen of all sweatpants, the True Bias hudson pant.  I used this pattern once before to make a woven version, but I hadn’t gotten around to making them as intended until now.  We shot a...
