Happy Thursday! I'm a little behind this week because we spent the long weekend over on Hornby island. It was a wonderful trip full of snorkeling, lounging, reading and of course, lots and lots of eating. I made a couple of garments to photograph on the island, too, so I look forward to sharing those with you all! Caroline and I are still hard at work on our Top Secret Project, which we will finally be able to share with you very soon!! I can't wait čÖé News (clockwise from top left) Itch to Stitch released the Chai shirt and...

I picked up this piece of rayon challis at Fabric By Designer in Toronto when I was there last month. I have been meaning to make the winged version of the Acton Dress for some time now but I needed a piece of fabric that was big enough and well suited to the design. I knew when I saw this challis that it would be ideal for a pattern like the Acton with large pieces so the print can really shine. I also love the way the wrapped effect of the dress mimics the wrapped petals in the lilies and...

Welcome to August, makers! I am getting pretty excited about fall sewing, I have to admit. I know, I know, summer isn't over, but even though I am over a decade out of school, I still get those feelings of new beginnings and reinvention that surface around August. I intend to create a fall and winter inspiration board to share with you all soon, much like my spring/summer one this past season. I managed to make quite of few things from that board and it helped me to narrow down my sewing plans. Do you make seasonal sewing plans? How...

Suki Kimono Dress

I have been pleasantly surprised at how versatile the Suki Kimono is during my pattern development phase. I have experimented with dresses, cover-ups, jackets, and tops. I love when patterns can be made into more than their intended purpose with a little tweaking. The shape of the bodice and sleeves lends itself well to many applications, and with a some pattern hacking, I've managed to create a suite of Suki things to share with you on the blog! Tomorrow is the last day for the Suki sale, so grab this pattern while it's still 20% off!  In this post, I will...

The day when I get to share the tester photos is my favorite day of launch week - is that weird?  I love sharing a new pattern with you all, but sharing the results of the pattern test is the most exciting. After two full weeks of hanging out in the tester facebook group with these lovely ladies, I am always so humbled by their hard work, honesty, and encouragement. It is also way too much fun to see all the different fabric choices and the way Suki looks on different figures (spoiler alert- it looks amazing). Psssst - you...
